Contentment is a new way of seeing the world!

We tend to think that living with stress is the norm, and that contentment simply means relaxing and letting life take us by storm. For the Christian woman, however, contentment is something we should strive for and work toward in all circumstances, because anxiety and frustration are not neutral behaviors.

It's certainly easier to follow our natural impulses when things get difficult or simply upset us, but contentment is an important part of our Christian life. Even the apostle Paul had to "learn" contentment. So we shouldn't be surprised that we're still in spiritual kindergarten—repeating the same lessons over and over—if we haven't applied ourselves to the study of contentment.

In her book "Contentment," Nancy Wilson goes to the Bible and to Puritans like Jeremiah Burroughs, Samuel Rutherford, Thomas Watson, and Charles Spurgeon for help in developing the practical spiritual strength that comes from deep satisfaction in contentment with God's will.

This encouraging book includes concise explanations, application questions, and practical tasks that engage and challenge all women, plus plenty of biblical wisdom for individual or group study.
